School Booking T&Cs

Terms and conditions

This is an agreement between the London Borough of Islington (“the Council”) and you (“the Booker”) that relates to the delivery of cycle training run by the Council in or for your School on or after the date of this agreement.

Booking

  1. The Booker has read and understood the course requirements (trainee numbers, relevant age/year groups, location and time requirements) prior to making this booking.
  2. The Booker has checked with relevant staff and class teachers regarding the timing of this course and any potential clashes with other school events (e.g. swimming, sports day etc)
  3. The school has an appropriate outdoor space that will be allocated for the delivery of Bikeability training during the week of the training requested.
  4. Once booked, courses are confirmed unless you are otherwise informed by the Council. If the Council is unable to meet your request for training, the Council will endeavour to offer an alternative date or solution;
  5. The Council will register your training with the Bikeability Trust and will administer your training using its digital platform Link. You will receive notification of your course and access to this platform approximately 6 weeks in advance of your course.

Cancellation

  1. If you need to cancel your course, please notify the Council as soon as possible (cycletraining@islington.gov.uk). The more notice we are provided with, the more likely we are able to allocate our provision to the benefit of another school.
  2. If a school cancels a course within 4 weeks of the start date, the school pays 50% of the course cost.
  3. If the school cancels the course within 2 weeks of the start date, the school pays 100% of the course cost.

Delivery

It is acknowledged and agreed as follows:

  1. The Council will provide bicycles and equipment for use during school cycle training. The Booker agrees to put arrangements in place to receive delivery and collection of the bikes, and store them in a safe place for the duration of the training week.
  2. The Booker (or another school contact) will work with the Instructors to agree a suitable timetable for the training week, and an appropriate location.
  3. The Booker accepts that the Instructors may at any time refuse to train any student whose behaviour or ability level is deemed to be disruptive or likely to be a hazard to themselves or other people.
  4. The Council is not responsible for any injury or loss or damage to participants or any person or property either on the way to, or during the training or, on the way from the training unless this has been caused by an Instructors deliberate or negligent act or omission.
  5. The Council recommends that all training participants wear a helmet and will provide helmets for use during its school courses.

Dispute procedure

  1. Please contact us if you are unhappy with any aspect of your school training course.
