Children’s holiday Bikeability

Islington Council offers free Bikeability cycle training for children aged 5-12 years old in the school holidays at Rosemary Gardens (N1) and Tollington Place (N4).

Our next courses are happening straight after Christmas on 2 and 3 January: ideal for anyone who has a new bike as a present!  See details and booking links below.  We will be holding further courses during the February half term (17 to 20 February) and booking for these courses will open in the new year.  If you would like to be added to the waiting list please contact us.

There are three courses available to suit your child’s age and ability.

  • Beginners – learning to ride (age 5 and up, two day course)
  • Level 1 Bikeability – off-road control skills (5-9 years, two day course)
  • Level 2 Bikeability – on-road training for more confident riders (9-12 years, four day course)

A four-day course (4 x 2 hour sessions) for children who can cycle well, but have little or no experience of road cycling. This course begins off road to ensure basic skills have been covered.  The training will then move on to local roads, where the children will work on road positioning, junction turns and communication with other road users.
