Children’s holiday Bikeability

Islington Council offers free Bikeability cycle training for children aged 5-9 years old in the school holidays at Rosemary Gardens (N1) and Wray Crescent (N4).  Our next courses are running during the May half term (29th May to 1st June) and these courses can be booked below.  For our summer holiday courses running from 20th to 31st August, please visit this page.  Scroll to the bottom of this page for information about year 7 transition week courses in August.

There are three courses available to suit your child’s age and ability.

A short course (2 x 1hr sessions) for complete beginners who have never cycled before, or have only ridden a bike with stabilisers (training wheels).

Level 2 Bikeability – an introduction to road cycling (9-12 years)

A four-day course (4 x 2hr sessions) for children who can cycle well, but have little or no experience of road cycling. This course begins off road and once basic skills have been covered, the training will move on to local roads, where the children will work on road positioning, basic manoeuvres and communication with other road users.

Our next public Level 2 course runs in the summer holidays and can be booked here.

Please note that we are not running any Level 2 courses during May half term. Nearly every Islington school offers free Level 2 courses for its year 5 or 6 pupils – please speak to your child’s teachers or contact us to find out about your school’s next course.

If there are no courses listed above, or if all courses are fully booked, please contact us to be added to our waiting list. We will alert you when new course dates are announced.

Secondary school transition weeks

We are running Level 3 Bikeability training during secondary school transition weeks in August, for children entering year 7.  If you have a code to book these courses, please click on your school:
